still looking for a preloader. but even if can find one. were looking for one that will show nothing, not even the default bg image loader until page is loaded?
if video is 10mb and takes a couple seconds you just want white timed out page to sit there?
Justin Bernard on August 11, 2015:
my guess is it prob doesnt load the whole thing, but just a little buffer
like right now, you just see the bg image for like 1sec then the vid starts streaming
Taylor Bernard on August 11, 2015:
isnt that what its supposed to be doing?
its either going to preload the video and show the buffer frame or find some way to do it where it just shows white bg?
Justin Bernard on August 11, 2015:
it is, thought there may be a js/jquery plugin way so that instead of just hard cutting, we can know its ready to play, so i can trigger a fade in of the video/etc. just something to polish it a bit
Taylor Bernard on August 11, 2015:
adobe media export and AE arent best on compression. just put it on PC and used tool i used to convert video files for torrents. able to get it from 19mb to 10 with not really any noticeable diff quality. so theres def room to smash it down smaller
Justin Bernard on August 11, 2015:
oh nice. bounce me that updated ogg and mp4 thx
Taylor Bernard on August 11, 2015:
do you want to go any lower in quality? may can get it a few mb lower and start seeing bit of a drop. its already 1920 wide so its big already
Justin Bernard on August 11, 2015:
low as you can go and it still look good
test it here, just replace vids till good mix of quality vs size
dang, good work prob lets go with middle ground one unless you think otherwise. honestly not sure if id see a big diff if not looking at them back to back
do same for an ogg if you can as well, see if there are other file formats we need
thx
Justin Bernard on August 12, 2015:
hey, for now, lets just have the poster image be frame 1, so get me a quality jpg of that
we dont need to recut i dont think, just lets have the poster match it so it doesnt jump so bad
also, pull together the latest files (mp4/ogg/etc) so i can put in my local/latest build
Taylor Bernard on August 12, 2015:
poster image?
and ive already put the other file types in there.
